Remains found in Kennesaw confirmed as missing Iraq War veteran

The remains found behind a former Kennesaw residence of James Bradshaw Clement have been identified as the Iraq War veteran Chase Massner, officials said.

The Cobb County medical examiner made the determination based on dental records, Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said Thursday.

Clement was arrested two weeks ago on charges of concealing a death after about a week on the run, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

The 31-year-old told police he’d turn himself in after he was charged with concealing his friend’s death, but he had a change of heart.

Massner disappeared in March 2014 after spending the night with Clement at a home in the 500 block of Farmbrook Trail.

Bones and other remains were found Aug. 1 in the ground under a concrete slab behind the house.
