Potential for scattered showers, partly cloudy skies Wednesday evening

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns  said by 7 p.m. scattered showers are possible around the metro area. Burns said the showers are not expected to be heavy, moving from the east to the west at 20 mph.

Burns said as we get into the latter part of the evening, showers will be few and far between. 

By 9 p.m., the chance for thunderstorms lessens. Skies are expected to be partly cloudy.

Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Katie Walls encourages people with outdoor plans to have an indoor plan in mind in case they hear thunder. She said if you can hear thunder, then you’re close enough to be struck by lightning.
