Police: N. Fulton man robbed at gunpoint while walking his dog

Police say that two men wearing ski masks robbed a Sandy Springs man while he was walking his dog.

The man was walking his dog late Friday night behind the Mosaic at Sandy Springs apartment complex on Roswell Road. He told police that’s when two men with guns came up behind him and demanded all the money he had.

"I was really scared at the time," the victim, whose first name is Miguel, told Chanel 2 Action News. "… They put me on my back and held a gun to my head. I didn't have a lot of money, but they still took my wallet."

He asked the television station not to use his last name but didn’t give a reason.

Miguel told Channel 2 that the suspects let him up and told him to walk away and to not turn around, so he couldn’t see what they looked like. Miguel called police when he arrived back at his apartment.

Police did not say how much money was taken from him.

“Officers were dispatched out there immediately, set up, checked the area, and we couldn’t locate the suspects,” Sandy Springs police Sgt. Sam Worsham told Channel 2. “We don’t know if they left on foot or in a vehicle.

“… Walking your dog late at night (is) probably not the best idea.”

Police say the investigation is ongoing and they ask anyone with information to give them a call. You can submit a crime tip by visiting their Facebook page.
