If you're traveling on Ga. 400 Tuesday morning, you might not have to pay a toll. The Atlanta Hawks will pay for all northbound and southbound tolls from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. to promote the return of NBA basketball after a five-month lockout.
"All 50-cent, cashier and cruise card/Peach Pass lanes’ tolls will be paid for by the Atlanta Hawks," the team said in a statement.
In addition, Hawks hall of famer Dominique Wilkins, Harry the Hawk and the Hawks cheerleaders will be at the toll plaza handing out magnet game schedules and $50 holiday cards that can be used toward purchasing Hawks home game tickets. STAFF REPORTS

The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program will help 584 families in Douglasville have a happy Christmas.
Families who were pre-qualified will receive gifts on from 9 a.m. until noon Dec. 21 at Douglasville First United Methodist Church, 6167 Prestley Mill Road.
The Angel Tree program, which was founded in 1979 by The Salvation Army, provides gifts to children, their families and senior citizens .
As part of the gift-giving event, Jordan and Emily Hylton, who were recently married, decided that rather than receiving wedding gifts, they would work with The Spokes Group-Atlanta help buy bicycles for 178 children this Christmas. SHELIA POOLE

State and local dignitaries gathered recently at the former Naval Air Station Atlanta for the ribbon cutting of the Georgia National Guard's Joint Forces headquarters. The facility's name is now the Gen. Lucius Clay National Guard Center in honor of the Cobb County native who became a World War II hero and coordinator of the Berlin Airlift.
The three-story headquarters on Halsey Avenue in Marietta will provide work space for up to 700 personnel. More than 1,500 Georgia Guard soldiers and airmen will eventually perform training there. ANDRIA SIMMONS
