Griffin police arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting that took place early Saturday morning.

Vonterryon J. Matthews, who is known as Jaquez or Quez and has a “street name” of Raw Dirty, allegedly shot Jontavian Davis several times with a handgun, Griffin police spokesman Lt. Michael Natale said.

Davis, 36, was killed shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday at 828 Scales Street, Natale said.

Matthews was arrested Tuesday.
