A Cobb County man was arrested after allegedly giving a 15-year-old a tattoo in a Marietta apartment.
Steven Paul Theriot, 41, gave the teen a tattoo on his or her right shoulder blade using ink, needles and a motor, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the AJC. And another teen was also in the Bentley Road apartment to get a tattoo when Marietta officers arrived, Officer David Baldwin told the AJC.
Officers were sent to the apartment Wednesday after receiving a tip regarding possible illegal narcotic use, Baldwin said. During a search, officers found marijuana in an ashtray and charged Hillary Elizabeth Coker, 19, with drug possession, according to her arrest warrant.
While searching the apartment, officers found the illegal tattoo operation, Baldwin said.
Georgia law prohibits anyone except a doctor or osteopath from giving a tattoo to anyone under 18, even with parental consent.
Theriot was charged Friday with tattooing the body of a minor, a misdemeanor, and booked into the Cobb County Jail, booking records show. He was released Saturday afternoon after posting $2,500 bond.
Coker was also arrested Friday and released the following day after posting $1,000 bond, according to jail records.
