A Kennesaw man is in jail for allegedly vandalizing Cobb County churches with “vulgar and satanic phrases,” police said.
Clint Vance, 32, was arrested Tuesday on three felony counts of vandalizing a place of worship for alleged crimes between late April and early July. The graffiti includes things like “(Expletive) God!” and “Satan” in addition to lines over spray paint drawings of crucifixes.
Police said he may have also vandalized one home near his own and that more charges are possible.
“Detectives worked this case tirelessly in order to pinpoint where he might be then found him a few houses down from the one and only residence he vandalized,” said Cobb spokeswoman Officer Sarah O’Hara. “There was a spray paint can in his vehicle and his physique matched the male in the security footage.”
The footage was from Noonday Baptist on Canton Road and showed a car he used.
Police previously said he also vandalized Northstar Church in Kennesaw, Church of Christ North Cobb and Wildwood Baptist Church in Acworth. Cops said a church in Woodstock also had a similar incident.
O’Hara said Vance confessed to the crimes.
As for the one house that was allegedly vandalized, she said it was not connected to the churches.
Records show he is being held on a bond of $8,470.
