Applicants are sought for the first “Government 101: Kennesaw Government Academy.”
The six-week course is designed to provide an inside look at the day-to-day operations of the city, how it forms partnerships and how management approaches long-range planning, according to a city statement.
Beginning July 17, the class is open to Kennesaw residents, ages 18 and above, and business owners within the city limits.
Each week the class will focus on one of Kennesaw’s priorities listed in its strategic plan.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning activities, network and hear updates from city staff.
Open to the first 15 registrants, the class will meet weekly from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Kennesaw City Hall with a graduation scheduled on Aug. 28.
Candidates running for office may not participate in the class.
