Inauguration: Atlanta tweeps as divided as ever

As Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States, Atlantans took to social media to react to the inauguration

The divisions of the contentious campaign have carried through to Inauguration Day; some Atlantans greeted their new president with enthusiasm and joy, while others poured their angst out onto social media. 

Trump supporters celebrated after watching him take his official oath. Like many Trump fans, Atlantan Gabrielle Seunagal says she couldn’t be prouder to be an American.

Trump fans weren’t shy about welcoming the end of the Obama presidency, giving the outgoing president a rousing sendoff.

But in case Obama wasn’t feeling the love from local tweeps, a number of Atlantans gave more sincere thanks for the former president and his family .

Of course, Trump had his share of critics, who are having trouble seeing the president transition out of his entertainment background.
