In the wake of an influx of new businesses, Grayson city leaders have declared a moratorium on all new sign applications in order to examine the city's sign ordinance.
"We are just wanting to look over our sign ordinance and see if it needs tweaking," Councilwoman Allison Wilkerson Rooks said.
Currently, the ordinance doesn't allow neon or motion signs, and it doesn't accommodate businesses with a need for more than one sign, Rooks said.
The city is examining similar sign laws in other cities and Gwinnett County. The moratorium is in effect until Feb. 17.
