Cracker Barrel to open millennial-friendly 'biscuit house' in Atlanta

The first Georgia location of Holler & Dash, a Cracker Barrel subsidiary, is slated to open this year in Atlanta.

For fans of the major restaurant chain — Cracker Barrel has 643 locations in 44 states — this is big news.

But even those who don’t frequent the popular sit-down restaurant should take note, as this new concept is less “old country store” and more millennial-friendly.

Holler & Dash has four locations across Alabama, Florida and Tennessee, where its based.

The restaurants are fast-casual and serve biscuits loaded down with ingredients like fried chicken, pimento cheese and jalapeno, or bacon, guacamole and fried green tomato. Other items, such as salad, beignets and grits, are also available.

The new restaurant aims to open in August at the Westside Ironworks building, at 1085 Howell Mill Road, according to a spokesman. It will replace the shuttered grilled cheese spot, Tom + Chee, and be neighbor to modern Japanese concept O-Ku Atlanta.

The small chain partners with Atlanta’s Doux South Pickles and Georgia-based Springer Mountain Farms.
