Investigators looking into cheating on standardized tests in the Atlanta Public Schools delivered a voluminous report Thursday to Gov. Nathan Deal -- the same day that Superintendent Beverly Hall concluded her 12-year tenure.
Deal is expected to make the report public as early as Tuesday, after his staff briefs members of the Atlanta school board, lawmakers and Mayor Kasim Reed, said Brian Robinson, the governor's spokesman. "There are people who must hear about it before it's released to the media."
Alleged criminal acts detailed in the report are likely to be referred to district attorneys for possible prosecution in at least three counties: Fulton, DeKalb and Douglas.
Hall, 64, made no public appearances in her final days as superintendent and has not announced her plans.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is suspending all construction-related lane closings from July 1 at 5 a.m. to July 5 at 5 a.m for the holiday weekend.
The Department encourages drivers to be cautious of holiday traffic and be aware of work crews that may be working near highways.

The Georgia Charter Schools Commission formally shut down operations Thursday.
Executive director Mark Peevy said since the state Supreme Court overturned the commission, ruling that it was unconstitutional, the board had to cease operations as the fiscal year ended.
Peevy said he is working on several options for the staff to continue their work in Georgia in another capacity.
Peevy took over as head of the commission in May 2010. He is the former chief executive officer of Walton Career Academy. D. AILEEN DODD
