Collier Road, a major northwest Atlanta surface street, reopened Friday after crews finished repairing damage caused by Monday's water main break.

The 12-inch break occurred Monday afternoon on Collier Road between DeFoor and Hills avenues, according to Janet Ward, a spokeswoman for the city's Department of Watershed Management.

The road repair was scheduled to be completed Thursday, but the repairs were not completed until Friday, Ward said.

The road reopened in time for the afternoon rush hour.
