A 59-year-old Cobb County woman died Saturday afternoon after being ejected from her vehicle on I-75.
Mary Davis, of Acworth, was driving a Ford Explorer southbound when she apparently swerved to avoid another vehicle, causing the Explorer to overturn multiple times, Officer Michael Gardner with Marietta police said.
Davis and her daughter, Leslie Davis, 43, were both transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where Mary Davis later died, Gardner said. Leslie Davis, the front seat passenger, remained in critical condition Saturday evening after being extricated from the vehicle, police said.
Leslie Davis' 4-year-old nephew, a backseat passenger, received minor injuries, Gardner said. He was transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, where he was treated and released.
The wreck remains under investigation, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Stephen Miller at 770-794-5356.
