Four teachers of the year from Cobb County School District and Marietta City Schools will be recognized by the Cobb Chamber. And don’t forget about the year of driving around a new car.

There are three Cobb teachers (elementary, middle and high) and a single Marietta teacher of the year, who hasn’t been announced. The three Cobb teachers will be whittled down to one district-wide finalist.
The Cobb finalist and single Marietta teacher will be honored at a Handprint Unveiling Ceremony on Oct. 11 and a Teacher of the Year breakfast/pep rally on Oct. 23, according to the Chamber.

The Oct. 11 event will be at the The Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre, where two teachers will have their handprints unveiled on the Teacher Walk of Honor.
The Oct. 23 breakfast at Roswell Street Baptist Church is invite-only, but the pep rally will have an estimated 2,000 students cheering on the teachers.
It’s at that breakfast that Ed Voyles Automotive Group will present the four teachers with one-year leases on a new car. They’ll get the cars at the Chamber’s Nov. 5 meeting.
Since 1988, the Chamber said, more than 130 teachers have been honored.
