Body found at Atlanta fire station identified

Authorities have identified the man whose body was found in front of an Atlanta fire station a week ago, but the cause of death remains undetermined pending toxicology reports.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Steven James Jenkins, 22, of Atlanta. He was found in front of Station 29, in the 2100 block of Monroe Drive, about 9 a.m. last Sunday.

"Fire personnel attempted first aid on the victim, but he was found to be dead on the scene," said Officer Otis Redmond, an Atlanta police spokesman. "There was no sign of trauma to the victim."

Mark Guilbeau, a senior investigator with the medical examiner's office, said it would take several weeks for toxicology reports to come back from the GBI lab.
