On Sunday night, the country will be one step closer to picking the next American Idol.

Georgia’s own Caleb Lee Hutchinson, of Dallas, has made it to the Top 3 and could soon own the coveted title.

His parents, William “Hutch” Hutchinson and Piper, left from Atlanta on Saturday afternoon to meet up with and cheer on their son as he sings his final songs in Los Angeles.

Channel 2's Lauren Pozen met up with them as they arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson International and told Pozen they always believed in Caleb and can't wait to see him.

“It is just like a dream come true, it really is,” William Hutchinson said. “Caleb is doing really well. We got to see him in the home town and he’s tired, but he is excited.”

“For the most part, they are all really tight friends as far as the contestants go. The judges are really cool,” Hutchinson said.

Caleb might be the only contestant from Georgia eyeing the title of the next American Idol, but he’s not alone in representing the Peach State.

“Ryan Seacrest is as nice as can be. Sometimes, we get caught in between the commercial break and actually get to talk to him ... and being from Georgia, we have that common link,” Hutchinson said.

Sunday, Caleb will face off with two other hopefuls. His parents have a message for his fans:

“He just dropped his single last night, ‘Johnny Cash Heart.’ Buy it. We need it. Vote, vote, vote. Thank you, Georgia. Thank you for all the support,” Hutchinson said.

Caleb’s parents told Hutchinson they did give him some advice: Stay humble, grounded and put God first.
