Annual Yaarab Shrine Circus coming to Cobb County

The 77th annual Yaarab Shrine Circus and Fair will bring a week’s worth of exciting carnival rides and acrobatic stunts to Cobb County.

The 2019 installment of this long-running show will be held May 18 through Memorial Day, May 27, at Jim Miller Park at 2245 Callaway Road SW in Marietta.

Circus goers will be treated to diverse lineup of entertainment, including the Flying Poemas; Royal Hanneford Circus Barnyard Follies featuring Grumpy’s Pork Chop Review, Shrine Circus elephants and the Hanneford Dancers, Equine Excellence showcasing horses, camels and Zebras “all working at liberty;” Shrine Circus clowns and Brian Miser, the human cannonball. Also returning this year will be fireworks displays on May 18 and May 25.

Making its debut at this year’s circus will be an arts and crafts show at the park’s event center and Cycle Circus Live, an FMX freestyle entertainment show founded by famous daredevil Johnny Rockets.

If the circus isn’t your cup of tea, you can check out the accompanying carnival that will provide 35 rides suitable for all ages. Be sure to bring your appetite, as a plethora of festival food will be available to devour.

The circus will open at 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon Sunday and 10 a.m. Memorial Day. Admission to the fair is $7 each for adults and free for children 10 and younger. Admission to a sneak peek ride-a-thon, which begins at 5 p.m. Friday, May 17, is $10 per person and does not include circus performances.
