Andrea Sneiderman, in-laws reach settlement in wrongful death lawsuit

Jury reads Andrea Sneiderman verdict

A settlement has been reached in the wrongful death lawsuit filed against Andrea Sneiderman by her former in-laws, court documents reveal.

The news comes just two days before a scheduled bond hearing for the Dunwoody widow, currently serving a five-year sentence at the Arrendale State Prison in northeast Georgia. Sneiderman was convicted in August on charges of perjury and hindering the investigation into the November 2010 fatal shooting of her husband, Rusty, by her former supervisor at GE Energy, Hemy Neuman.

Details of the settlement were not made available.

The civil suit, which alleged Andrea “knew that her co-conspirator intended to kill Rusty Sneiderman,” was filed by her late husband’s brother and parents just prior to her indictment on murder charges in August 2012. Those charges were dropped on the eve of her criminal trial.

According to the suit, Andrea Sneierman “actively and knowingly participated in the murder and the planning of the murder.”

Andrea Sneiderman’s civil attorneys countered that it was “profoundly unfair” and a violation of Georgia law for Rusty’s brother to publicly accuse their client of being a co-conspirator to murder “while simultaneously calling for investigations, and filing a lawsuit, to determine whether or not the accusations that he has publicly made against her are true.”
