The Alpharetta Planning Commission has set a public hearing for a proposed “boutique hotel” with 120 rooms, to be built on a roughly 1-acre site at 21 Milton Ave. in the downtown area.

The developer of the proposed Cotton House is seeking a rezoning from C-2 to DT-C (Downtown Commercial), a conditional use for a hotel and a height variance from 60 to 67 feet. The building also would have retailing and a restaurant on the main floor.

The hearing is to begin at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 2, at Alpharetta City Hall, 2 Park Plaza. In its application to the city, VS Milton Retail LLC says the project is consistent with the Downtown Development Plan, which calls for a mix of office and commercial uses.
