Alleged carjackers hit boulder, car burst into flames, police say

Two men are accused of using guns to carjack a Chevrolet Wednesday night, leading police on a chase from Clayton County to DeKalb County.

The Morrow police officers spotted Jonte Hudson, 24, and Jonathan Headspeth, 22, in the stolen car because the car had a large company logo on it, the department said on social media.

After driving into a businesses parking lot in DeKalb County, a large boulder blocked their way, police said.

“The vehicle burst into flames and the suspects were lucky to escape the fire and ran off into the woods,” the post stated.

Police dogs tracked the men down and they were arrested.

Both Hudson and Headspeth remain in Clayton County jail.
