Sure, puppies and kittens are cute, but an older dog or cat will love you just as much.
The Gwinnett County Animal Shelter is running an adoption special on adult pets. Puppies and kittens get adopted at higher rates than full-grown pets, or animals who have a disability. In order to find homes for animals who have been hanging around the shelter for a while, the facility is hosting Adopt a Less-Adoptable Pet Month, according to a release.

These “less adoptable” animals will be available for an adoption fee of $20. Dogs typically cost $45 and cats typically cost $30. You can also adopt two kittens for $20, or take home any animal for free on Fridays.
All animals are spayed or neutered before they go home with their new owner. They also receive a medical exam, vaccinations and a microchip.
The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is located at 884 Winder Highway in Lawrenceville.
