Ga. 400 entrance, roads closed for downed trees in metro Atlanta

Tropical Storm Irma’s strong winds have knocked down trees, closing some metro Atlanta roads, including Georgia 400 at Sidney Marcus Blvd.

Other major intersections closed include Piedmont Road at Pharr Road and East Paces Ferry Road at Lenox Road.

In Sandy Springs, a tree that came down on power lines closed Hammond Drive at Peachtree Dunwoody Road. All lanes of Hammond Drive are closed from the Ga. 400 North on-ramp to Concourse Parkway.

A tree also took down power lines at Riverside Drive and Dalrymple Road, but that road is now open.
