Atlanta Public Schools leaders have proposed a $777 million budget next year.
That’s $16 million more than this year, an increase of 2 percent.
But the district doesn’t expect to increase taxes to cover the higher spending, thanks mostly to higher local property values.
The board will hold a series of public meetings on the budget before a scheduled final vote on the budget in June:
- April 27, Mays High School
- May 2, Burgess-Peterson Elementary School
- May 11, Long Middle School
- May 18 Sutton Middle School
All meetings will be held from 6 -7 p.m.
