A registered sex offender is behind bars after being arrested outside a Kennesaw day care facility, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Henley Thermidor, 25, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the Laugh and Learn along Cobb Parkway.
An officer was completing an unrelated traffic stop when he saw the car pull into the day care parking lot. After running the car’s tags, the officer discovered that Thermidor is a registered sex offender, according to the police report.
The Dacula man, who’s serving a 10-year probation sentence for having sex with a 15-year-old, told officers he was only dropping off a friend who works at the day care and that knew he wasn’t supposed to be there, Channel 2 reported.
It’s unclear how many times Thermidor had been there.
“It’s very concerning. Now I’m scared because I have children here,” parent Shantel Williams told the news station.
Thermidor is charged with loitering near a child care facility, school or area where minors congregate as a registered sex offender, jail records show. He remains held without bond at the Cobb jail.
