Florida daycare owner accused of hitting 2-year-old with his shoes

A Florida daycare owner was arrested after hitting a 2-year-old boy with his own shoes.

On Friday, Colleen Williams Days, 59, admitted to striking the child several times with his shoes because he wouldn’t put them on when asked. The boy suffered five large bruises on his thighs, according to WFTS

The incident happened on Oct. 3 at Itsy Bitsy Kids World in unincorporated Largo, WFTS reported.

According to WFTS, the mother was originally told that her was bruised because he “fell,” but after investigations authorities learned that Days had previously hit kids with her hand or a shoe as a form of punishment, according to WFTS.

Days was charged with child abuse and the daycare has been suspended pending an investigation, according to WFTS.
