A Marietta man “committed an execution-style murder” when he shot his father, authorities said.
Daniel Walden Attaway shot his father “between his eyes” and “close to his forehead” Saturday afternoon in the basement of their house on Hardage Farm Drive, according to the Cobb County arrest warrant.

Marietta police arrested the 24-year-old Tuesday in connection with the death of Douglas Attaway, 59, a construction vice president.
The son is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possessing a firearm while committing a crime, according to Cobb jail records.
There is no bond.
Daniel Attaway initially called 911 and said he had just entered his home and found that his father had been shot and appeared dead, Marietta police Officer Chuck McPhilamy said.
However, by Tuesday investigators developed “sufficient evidence” to charge Attaway, McPhilamy said.
Attaway used a 9mm handgun, according to the warrant, and also shot his father in his right shoulder before firing the other shots.
Police have not released other details about the case.
