A father found his family dead Friday afternoon inside their Norcross home in what may be a murder-suicide, police said.
According to Gwinnett County police, the father came to his Pebble Creek Drive home to find his 55-year-old wife, 26-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
"Detectives are investigating the possibility that the son was the shooter and ultimately turned the gun on himself," Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said.
The final cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner, he said.
Washington said detectives were working to determine sequence of events through Friday evening. He said their main concern is assisting the grieving family.
"We are investigating why a tragedy like this would happen one week before Thanksgiving," he said. "By answering difficult questions our hope is that the impacted families will be able to grieve and begin healing."
