Atlanta police are investigating a fatal shooting at an abandoned car wash, and Wednesday, they asked the public for help with the case.

Chauncey King of Atlanta was found in a parking lot in the 1400 block of Campbellton Road in the early morning of Oct. 13 with a single gunshot wound to the chest.

He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On Wednesday, police released a surveillance video of a man who they believe can help solve the case, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The man is shown inside a convenience store on Campbellton Road and may have witnessed the deadly shooting, police said.

“He comes into the store before the homicide, so hopefully, he may have saw, witnessed or heard something prior to the homicide,” Lt. Charles Hampton told Channel 2.

Anyone with information on the case should contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477. Tipsters can remain anonymous.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
