Over the next year, Amazon plans to hire more than 30,000 part-time virtual customer service workers, all of which will have access to tuition reimbursement.
“There are lots of people who want or need a flexible job—whether they’re a military spouse, a college student, or a parent—and we’re happy to empower these talented people no matter where they happen to live,” said Tom Weiland, Amazon vice president for Worldwide Customer Service.
On top of the virtual customer service jobs, Amazon also plans to hire more than 100,000 full-time full-benefit jobs over the next 18 months. The company will also create more than 25,000 part-time roles over the next year in its sortation and fulfillment centers across the U.S.
Part-time employees in those roles who log more than 20 hours a week receive full benefits, including life and disability insurance, dental and vision insurance with premiums paid in full by Amazon, and funding towards medical insurance. They also can go through Amazon's Career Choice.
