Georgia Tech controlled the game clock by wearing out the North Carolina defense with their ball-control running game. The Yellow Jackets rushed the football for over 400 yards that was highlighted by KirVonte Benson’s 63-yard touchdown run in GT’s 33-7 win over the Tar Heels on Saturday.

Here is what Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson said afterward:

On time of possession: "If you hold the ball for 38 minutes, then you're going to win most of the time. We gained over 4oo yards rushing the football, so you usually win the game. But, gaining a conference victory is what I'm most pleased about."

Overall offensive play: "Our offense made enough plays today, but it wasn't pretty. The fumbles were disappointing, and we worked hard on protecting the football in practice this week. We were very careless with the football in both cases. Plus, we missed some plays in the passing game."

The state of defense: "Overall, I thought our defense played well. I think we're getting better each week. We're tackling better, and stopping the run with different blitzes has helped as well. Plus, I think we have risen to the challenge of the competition within our conference"
