Holiday events are among the activities going on in Cobb this weekend, when you'll find everything from a Turkey Trot run to Six Flags Over Georgia's popular Holiday in the Park getting underway.

Gift of the Magi 2.0 is a new adaptation of O. Henry's timeless tale and is designed for viewers 10 and up. In this version, the main characters are Jim, an Atlanta streetcar driver, and his wife, Della, but the message of love remains the same.

Six Flags' annual holiday festival features more than 16 themed areas in addition to the park's usual attractions. You'll be able to celebrate the season with a million LED lights, dozens of Christmas trees, special shows and Santa himself.

The Early Bird Turkey Trot's course is fairly flat and is run on Chastain Meadows Parkway between Earnest Barrett Parkway and Chastain Road. One loop is a 5K, and you can keep going if you're up to running a 10K, 15K or half-marathon. Arrive early to bring canned goods to help the Blessings in a Backpack program.
