‘Frozen 2’ has already broken a record, nine months before its release

Fast Facts about Disney’s Frozen

Fans of Disney’s ice queen Elsa aren’t ready to let it go just yet.

“Frozen 2” has already set a record, nine months before the sequel hits theaters on Nov. 22.

“Thank you to the fans around the world for making the teaser trailer for #Frozen2 the most viewed animation trailer of all time, with a record-breaking 116.4 million views in 24 hours,” Walt Disney Studios tweeted Thursday.

With that, Disney broke its own record, soaring past last year’s “Incredibles 2,” whose trailer racked up 113 million views in its first 24 hours.

The overall most streamed movie trailer, for “Avengers: Endgame,” also falls under the Disney umbrella. The teaser for that film, due out in April, got a whopping 289 million views during its first 24 hours.

The two-minute “Frozen 2” trailer, released Wednesday, begins with the film’s heroine facing a raging sea, and using her powers to turn the waves into ice so she can run on top of them.

Back at what appears to be the castle, Elsa’s sister Anna looks alarmed by all the diamond-shaped ice crystals floating in the air outside her window.

The movie follows 2013’s “Frozen,” which won Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Let It Go.”
