Sure, you can have DiGiorno at home with a movie ... or you can go out, get a gourmet pizza and make it a full blown pizza night to remember.
Here's where to go if you are ready for a fancy night out for pizza:
Antico – Frequently heralded as among the best places to grab pizza in the United States, Antico is conveniently located on Atlanta's Westside halfway between Georgia Tech and Atlantic Station. That means it's the perfect location for grabbing a pie before or after you take in a Tech football game, shop at IKEA or shop for home decor.
Menu Pick: Take your tastebuds up a notch with the flavorful Diavola pizza.
No. 246 – With all that downtown Decatur offers, a date night that starts at No. 246 is a great gateway to fun whether it's taking in a show at Eddie's Attic, trying new beer at The Brick Store Pub or heading over to Oakhurst for their free jazz nights.
Menu Pick: Go with the classic Margherita pizza and be sure to save room for their desserts.
129 E. Ponce de Leon Ave. 678-399-8246.
Colletta – While Colletta doesn't have an Atlanta ZIP code, it does have all the credentials of a great Atlanta restaurant. After work, go home and get casually dressed then head up to Avalon where you can grab a pie then take advantage of all that the live/work/play destination has to offer.
Menu Pick: The Brussels Sprout: pancetta, honey crisp apples, honey, parmesan.
Fellini’s - Sharing the name of an acclaimed Italian filmmaker, Federico Fellini, is a good omen for this Poncey-Highland pizza spot. The Neopolitan style pizza is a light but filling thin crust option for those that want an alternative to Chicago-style deep dish.
Menu Pick: If you go, get a taste of the spinach-mushroom Sicilian pizza at Fellini’s Pizza, declared a Dish of the Week by the AJC’s Ligaya Figueras in 2016. As she puts it: “Fellini’s spinach-mushroom version, generous in melted cheese and redolent of fresh garlic, is my pick among set menu options – though you can add whatever toppings you want.”
