“I’m so big in Atlanta right now, I can’t even go outside.”

- Rapper Gucci Mane, quoted in The Source Magazine's April edition. Presumably the interview took place indoors.

White coat, black tie

The White Coat Grady Gala, benefiting the Grady Health Foundation, is Saturday night at the Georgia Aquarium. Chaired by Ada Lee Correll and Lovette Russell, the event honors Bernie Marcus, Dr. David Feliciano, Dr. Carla Haack and Dr. Rhonda Scott. "Our goal is to ensure continued donation of funds, increase community awareness and ultimately to support Grady and help it thrive, no matter what the economic landscape," Correll said. Organizers expect nearly 650 patrons, and you can join them if you hustle. Patron tickets are $1,250 per couple and today's the deadline to RSVP at www.gradyhealthfoundation.org.

Buzz in our ear

The best mornings are those when we get to check in with B98.5 FM Morning Show host Vikki Locke and  producer Jessica Forkel, who helps keep things running smoothly. Speaking of running, Forkel is hitting the pavement for a cause this Sunday. Her running group, Team in Training, will participate in the Publix Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon, which steps off at 7 a.m. from Centennial Olympic Park, on behalf of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  "I run for those that can't and for those that couldn't," Forkel said. "It's been an amazing journey meeting so many great people, learning that we touch so many and knowing that we are working to find a cure and save lives!" More than 243 runners will be hoofing it as part of Team in Training, and they've raised more than $215,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Want in on the action? See www.teamintraining.org or www.georgiamarathon.com for details.

Overscene

Queen Latifah popped into the Ansley Square CVS on Sunday night sporting a casual chic look -- comfy sweats and a T-shirt with a ball cap. And she still looked regal, according to our sources. The entertainer, who is here filming "Joyful Noise" with Dolly Parton, had a good time cutting up with the CVS staff and even spilled a little scoop about the movie. There's a huge food fight scene that they shot at a restaurant in Smyrna called Howard's.
