Why Costco has the best company culture

You may love Costco for its epic deals and free samples, but its employees love it for another reason: the workplace culture., a job-monitoring site, recently released its awards for Best Company Culture 2018, and the Issaquah, Washington-based wholesale club secured the #1 spot.

In terms of methodology, "[t]he winners of Comparably’s annual Best Company Culture for 2018 received the highest ratings by employees who provided anonymous feedback on a variety of workplace culture questions ranging from work environment to compensation to leadership on Comparably." Other categories considered from employee responses included perks and benefits, work-life balance, and professional development. Comparably looked at data coming from nearly 10 million ratings across 50,000 U.S. companies, dividing the winners into two categories, large (more than 500 employees) and small/mid-size (less than 500 employees),

For the large-sized companies list, Google and T-Mobile ranked second and third, respectively, with two Southern companies making the top 10, Aflac (Columbus, GA) in fifth, and Insight Global (Atlanta) in sixth. You can read the full top 50 lists here.

We're certainly happy to hear one of our favorite retailers score so highly in employee satisfaction. Here's to hoping 2019 brings another year of a great workplace environment and much Kirkland Signature deliciousness for employee and customer alike.
