It might be by the end of 2008 before the Westin Peachtree hotel replaces 500 windows damaged by the March tornado and another 500 in the hotel's elevator. So in the meantime, crews in the 72-story cylindrical tower are making do with another building material to get the rooms ready sheetrock. About 320 of the hotel's 1,068 rooms are not in use and it will take months before engineers wrangle with building codes and finding a manufacturer who can make windows that are appropriate.
