These Georgia berry farms offer you-pick during COVID-19

Feeling stir crazy? It’s berry season, and several farms within a couple of hour’s drive of metro Atlanta are opening their fields for picking. Call ahead to verify opening days, times and specific social distancing practices.

Adams Farm. The farm is open for berry picking through mid-July, with social distancing practices being followed.

Buffalo Creek Berry Farm. The farm is open for strawberry picking by reservation only, with one family allowed to pick at a time. Mulberries will be available in mid-May and blueberries will be available in June.

Ecosystem Farms. The farm's organic strawberry patch is open daily by appointment only, guaranteeing a row that no one has been in for the three days prior to your arrival. Customers are asked to take their temperatures before leaving the house.

Fleeman U-Pick Blueberries. The farm tentatively plans to reopen for berry picking on June 15. Once open, the farm will offer blueberries for $15 per level gallon. Suggested guidelines issued from the State Department of Agriculture will be followed.

Miller's Blueberry Farm. The farm plans to open in June for blueberry picking.

Mitcham Farm. The farm is offering strawberry picking through early June with blueberries, blackberries and peaches to be offered later in the season.

Southern Belle Farm. The farm is open for strawberry picking, encouraging social distancing by allowing one family at a time in each row of berries. Blackberries, blueberries and peaches will be available in June and muscadines and scuppernong grapes will be offered in July.

Snare Farm. The small family farm is offering blueberry and blackberry picking by reservation only starting June 1, with one family permitted to pick at a time. The farm also offers fig picking in July and muscadine and scuppernong grapes in August.
