Falcons' photographer Jimmy Cribb releases book

He went for tryouts and the head coach told the 5-foot-2 Cribb, “You’ll never get in the game.”

The coach knew Cribb’s family and that his mother was raising two boys and a girl by herself in a housing project. He offered him the trainer’s position.

Cribb learned a lot about football, cars and cameras. A fishing trip with Steve Bartkowski and John James led to Cribb getting a credential from Falcons' official Charlie Dayton, who told him “don’t get your butt run over.”

That was some sound advice and Cribb has managed to stay safe for 36 years since.

Cribb, with his sharp and crisp photos, ended up becoming the team’s official photographer.

The book has shots of all of the Falcon greats – from Tommy Nobis and Steve Bartkowski fishing to Deion Sanders and his gold chains to Tony Gonzalez dunking footballs -- and the tales that only the team photographer would know.

Cribb has released his book “You’ll Never Get in the Game” with Cribb and author/screenwriter/sports writer George Henry.
