The Hater knows lots of married people who tell single people to never get married. He knows a handful of bitter divorced people who say that before they later get re-married.
Yeah, it will be different this time.
Apparently not even the G.O.A.T. is immune to this sad affliction. From the Associated Press:
Basketball legend Michael Jordan appears ready to get married again.
The former NBA star and Charlotte Bobcats owner appeared at the main Palm Beach County courthouse Thursday morning to apply for a marriage license, according to Kathy Burstein, a spokeswoman for the clerk's office. Applicants must apply in person and a license is good for 60 days. The identity of the bride-to-be was not immediately announced.
Jordan got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto, in December 2011.
It will be the second marriage for No. 23. He married Juanita Vanoy in September 1989, and they divorced in 2006. They have two sons, Jeffrey Michael and Marcus James, and a daughter, Jasmine.
The future Mrs. Jordan is, as they say, easy on the eyes. She's also 16-years younger than Jordan. Still a basketball trendsetter 10 years after he retired from playing, Jordan has become a cliche in life.
The timing of this is interesting. Just last week it came out that a woman filed a paternity suit in Fulton County alleging that Jordan is the father of her teen-aged son. Jordan has sought to have that suit dismissed because, his lawyers say, the woman acknowledged in divorce proceedings that her ex-husband fathered the child.
Protip: Never get married.
