It turns out the tomato can that former Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards "knocked out" last weekend has been suspended for allegedly taking a dive.

Reports the AP:

An Iowa boxer has been suspended indefinitely in North Dakota after allegedly taking a dive while boxing a former Minnesota Vikings football player in West Fargo.

Combative Sports Commissioner Al Jaeger says a video review of the fight between Nicholas Capes and a much larger Ray Edwards clearly shows Capes was not hit before he dropped to the canvas. Officials are continuing to investigate.

Event promoter Cory Rapacz says Capes was a last-minute replacement for a couple of no-show boxers and didn't realize what he was getting into before he got into the ring with Edwards, a former Vikings defensive end. He says officials expected Capes to try but says the backlash against Capes is unfair.

First of all, The Hater wants to be the "Combative Sports Commissioner" just for the awesome title.

Also, The Hater believes in fair hearings, even for palookas, but pretty sure we can go ahead and drop the "alleged" when talking about that dive.

The Hater can appreciate that Capes is just trying to make a few bucks by offering himself up as a heavy bag. But a quick Google search before hopping in his car would have quickly let Capes know that Edwards is a massive human being who might possibly put him in a coma.

Once Capes showed up and got a load of Edwards, he would have been better off making up some excuse and bowing out rather than participating in that farce. Or at least take a more convincing dive, dude.

The Hater is in the house.
