Fox News' hilarious redefining of 'equally fed up'

Hilarious. You really have to admire the effort, if not the results.

Here's how Fox News describes the results of its own newly released poll:

"WHILE CONGRESS CONTINUES to point fingers over who is to blame for the current budget impasse, Fox News polls show Americans appear equally fed up with Congress and President Obama, raising the possibility of an anti-incumbent backlash in 2014."

Meanwhile, here's what the Fox poll numbers actually say:

Job approval rating for Congress: 13 percent. That's a drop of four points since September's already abysmal 17 percent.

Job approval rating for President Obama: 45 percent. That's an increase of five points from a Fox poll a month ago.

To review: Obama's job approval rating is rising, and is more than three times as high as that of Congress, which is dropping. Yet "Americans appear equally fed up with Congress and President Obama."

I guess by that working definition, the Atlanta Braves scored an equal number of runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers last night.

But hey, they report, you decide.

Some more nuggets courtesy of Fox:

Job approval rating for President Obama on health care: 45 percent, up seven points from a Fox poll a month ago.

Percentage of those perceiving Obama as a lame-duck president: 42 percent, down seven points since May, the last time the question was asked.

Favorable/unfavorable for Democrats: 44/49 percent

Favorable/unfavorable for Republicans: 35/59 percent

Favorable/unfavorable for Tea Party:  33/49

Percentage supporting repeal of all or part of ObamaCare: 54 percent, down from 58 percent in June, which was down from 61 percent in January.

Is the shutdown of government a serious problem? 81 percent yes; 17 percent no.

Do you think "a partial shutdown of the federal government could be a good thing or is it definitely a bad thing?" Could be good: 30 percent; Definitely bad: 67 percent.

I'm thinking that means this "slimdown" marketing effort has yet to take hold.
