GOP Doubles Down on Medicare

Previous Posts

By Jamie Dupree

A day after Republicans lost a House seat in New York they had controlled for almost a half century, GOP leaders weren't backing down on their plans to bring about major reforms in Medicare.

Speaker John Boehner trumpeted the release of a new video by House Budget Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), whose budget - and plans for Medicare reform - were roundly attacked by Democrats in this week's special election.

Democrats in the halls of Congress here were almost giddy with excitement over their special election win, and will be more than happy to have Republicans keep the focus on this Medicare issue, which Democrats believe is a big winner for them politically.

You can watch the Ryan video and determine for yourself if the GOP has a strong counter attack to push back against Democratic Party attacks.
