There’s a lot on tap for Thursday. If you’re attending, make sure you get there early. The Braves play at Turner Field at 7:10 p.m., so I imagine traffic will be a breeze. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

Parking decks open at 5 p.m. Starting also at 5 p.m., the Georgia Tech All-Americans who will attend the game and be honored at halftime will lead the team down Yellow Jacket Alley. Not every day you get to high five living football history. The list of scheduled attendees is here.

Commemorative posters will be distributed on Callaway Plaza, though not many, so be quick to get yours.

The game is, if you haven’t heard, a white-out, backed by the Tech student government association. Perhaps you won’t be able to match the style of my friend Thomas who wore a white cotton bathrobe to the 2008 white-out vs. Miami, but hopefully you can find something white in your wardrobe. That was the night the space shuttle with Tech grads aboard flew over Bobby Dodd before the game. Pretty memorable evening.

The Jackets plan to wear throwback jerseys to tie into the white out.

Not to be outdone, Virginia Tech will don a helmet designed after the "Hokie Stone" -a type of rock mined near the Blacksburg campus.

The All-Americans will be presented and honored at halftime, along with a video commemorating the 100th anniversary of Grant Field and a fireworks show.

You can buy discounted tickets here.

Remember that backpacks are not permitted inside the stadium and smaller bags will be searched. A longer list of banned items can be found here.

Yellow Jackets even found trouble during pregame

Here is a clue that your trip to sunny south Florida may not be a carefree vacation: You’re a football team, and you lose one of your starters during warm-ups.

Dogs have resolve but they’re running out of bodies

If nothing else, Georgia has ensured at least one thing about its season. Regardless of where the rest of the schedule takes them, whether its to an SEC championship, a BCS bowl bid or a national title, there will be no claims from outsiders that this team received too many breaks and escaped health issues, no suggestions that the road to success was lined with lollipops and unicorns.

A better Georgia Tech yields only an emphatic loss

Georgia Tech got the start it wanted and, at least for a little while, ran the option the way Paul Johnson wants it run.
