The bad news for Georgia Tech is that long snapper Sean Tobin has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against Miami. The good news is that you probably didn’t even realize that Tobin missed part of last Thursday’s game against Virginia Tech.

It will be the job of long snapper Trevor Stroebel, a true freshman walk-on from Saukville, Wis., to continue going unnoticed against the Hurricanes. Tobin’s injury was the most notable listing on the Tech injury report.

B-back Broderick Snoddy was also ruled out for the game, meaning that he won’t be available for kickoff return duty. Most likely, DeAndre Smelter and David Sims will return kickoffs and Smelter will handle punt returns.

Wide receiver Darren Waller was listed as questionable.

Dogs have resolve but they’re running out of bodies

If nothing else, Georgia has ensured at least one thing about its season. Regardless of where the rest of the schedule takes them, whether its to an SEC championship, a BCS bowl bid or a national title, there will be no claims from outsiders that this team received too many breaks and escaped health issues, no suggestions that the road to success was lined with lollipops and unicorns.
