Former Georgia Tech wide receiver Jeff Greene, who was removed from the team in December, will transfer and walk on at Ohio State, according to his high school coach. Greene, who led Tech wide receivers in receptions (18) and receiving yards (284) last season, completed the semester at Tech and is expected to enroll at Ohio State this summer, Starr’s Mill coach Chad Phillips said Thursday.
“At least he’s moving on and going to try to get an education,” Phillips said.
Greene, who started seven games last season, will sit out the 2013 season and be eligible to play two seasons following that.
A week after a pair of unimpressive losses, Georgia Tech regained a bit of its footing. The Yellow Jackets delivered an emphatic 87-57 thrashing of East Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon at McCamish Pavilion to head into their final exam week on an up note.
