By Michael Carvell

It’s time for this week’s Recruiting “Hot Topics” with WSB-TV’s Zach Klein. Among this week’s topics:

  • How does Stephenson High School have so many kids sign D1 scholarships year after year after year?
  • How good is UGA commit Kendall Baker of Marist high school? Will he play defensive line or offensive line in college?
  • And what about UGA defensive lineman commit Dontavius Russell of Carrollton High School? He may be the state’s best prospect that almost nobody is talking about. Why is that? There’s a good theory.
  • Finally, one of the state’s top uncommitted prospects is Dante Sawyer, the defensive end from North Gwinnett High School. He was rumored to be on the brink of committing to Alabama or UGA last spring, and now some other SEC schools appear to be frontrunners. What’s going on?

All that and more in the above video.

Dogs have resolve but they’re running out of bodies

If nothing else, Georgia has ensured at least one thing about its season. Regardless of where the rest of the schedule takes them, whether its to an SEC championship, a BCS bowl bid or a national title, there will be no claims from outsiders that this team received too many breaks and escaped health issues, no suggestions that the road to success was lined with lollipops and unicorns.
