One of the state’s top basketball players will make her college decision at this weekend’s Ganon Baker Full Court Event, a showcase which features many elite prospects.
Erykah Davenport is a 6-foot-2 power forward from Tucker High School who was named the AJC’s Class AAAAA player of the year after averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds as a junior.
Davenport will pick between UGA, Florida State, Miami, N.C. State and Texas A&M at halftime of Sunday’s 3:30 p.m. game at Westlake High School.
Some other area players scheduled to participate in the event are St. pius high school’s Jasmine Carter (committed to UGA) Buford High School’ Bree Horrocks (committed to Purdue).
Tailback J.J. Green said he can’t say for sure how many times he has heard “you’re one play away from playing” from Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo and running backs coach Bryan McClendon.
