By Michael Carvell

Welcome to this week’s edition of “Recruiting Hot Topics.”

  • We have further analysis of the showdown between blue-chip prospects Mitch Hyatt and Lorenzo Carter. Who won the battle? And is Hyatt, the offensive tackle from North Gwinnett, really worthy of the state’s No. 1 ranking for next year?
  • And a lot of people want to know, what are UGA’s chances with Hyatt? He recently said that the Bulldogs and Florida State were the two schools recruiting him the hardest. But how will UGA match up with Clemson in this recruiting sweepstakes? Hyatt’s uncle played for Clemson’s 1981 national championship team.
  • What’s the breakdown of Tennessee RB commit Treyvon Paulk of Milton?
  • And what about Myles Autry? The RB is one of Georgia Tech’s top remaining targets? Will the Yellow Jackets get the multi-purpose athlete from Norcross High School? His brother plays at Georgia Tech.

We talk about that and more in the above video.

Dogs have resolve but they’re running out of bodies

If nothing else, Georgia has ensured at least one thing about its season. Regardless of where the rest of the schedule takes them, whether its to an SEC championship, a BCS bowl bid or a national title, there will be no claims from outsiders that this team received too many breaks and escaped health issues, no suggestions that the road to success was lined with lollipops and unicorns.
