The rich keeping getting richer.

Alabama picked up a commitment from the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect on Wednesday.

Cameron Robinson, a 5-star offensive tackle from West Monroe, La., committed to Alabama over LSU in a nationally-television press conference on ESPNU.

The 6-foot-5, 330-pounder is Alabama’s sixth commitment on the offensive line for this year’s recruiting class, which is ranked No. 1 in the nation yet again.

"Alabama's a great program," Robinson said. "Everytime I was able to get down to Tuscaloosa, I was able to sit down and talk with Coach Saban (and the assistants). I just developed a really strong relationship with them."

Robinson’s pledge may also help Alabama with the nation’s top prospect at running back, Leonard Fournette of New Orleans. Robinson and Fournette are buddies. They are rated No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in the 247sports composite rankings.

Dogs have resolve but they’re running out of bodies

If nothing else, Georgia has ensured at least one thing about its season. Regardless of where the rest of the schedule takes them, whether its to an SEC championship, a BCS bowl bid or a national title, there will be no claims from outsiders that this team received too many breaks and escaped health issues, no suggestions that the road to success was lined with lollipops and unicorns.

A better Georgia Tech yields only an emphatic loss

Georgia Tech got the start it wanted and, at least for a little while, ran the option the way Paul Johnson wants it run.
